Whitney Flood is an award winning Chef and owner of Bon Melange Catering in Los Angeles California. He Graduated from The New England Culinary Institute then quickly began his career working as a Sous Chef at Sierra Mar Restaurant in Big Sur California. (Zagat Rated Number 1 in cuisine, 2003). While working at Sierra Mar, Whitney developed his cooking techniques using seasonal, organic, local food. Whitney also spent several years in New York City working at Tocqueville, one of the top French restaurants in the area. He started right off as their catering chef, organizing events ranging from a ten person dinner party to five hundred person gala’s with wine pairings and gourmet cuisine. While working in New York Whitney received a full page write up in the June 2006 issue of Time Out New York for his (Chorizo and Grilled Sourdough Baguette with Oil Pimenton) Hors D’ oeuvre. Since opening his business in Los Angeles he has been awarded two years in row “Best Entree” for the Nationwide Cervena Venison Contest. Most recently he won an award for his Tapas creations through the annual Taste of Spain Contest.

Manager Julie Retzlaff is an experienced and organized planner who takes pride in her company. Over the years Julie and Whitney have explored many restaurants together around the country developing their style and appreciation for impeccable food and service. Julie also has a terrific understanding for wine and food pairings.
Our goal for Bon Mélange was to create a unique and innovative company, committed to delivering impeccable service and delicious food to each and every client. We believe in using only the best ingredients: local, seasonal, organic, sustainable & hormone free. We want our clients to get excited about their menu and their dining experience.
